Cannabis Control Commission Concludes First Day of 2020 Regulatory Review Discussions

The Cannabis Control Commission (Commission) convened Friday, June 19 to commence discussions on some of the potential changes to the medical- and adult use cannabis regulations in Massachusetts that it is considering in its 2020 regulatory review process. A full set of proposed regulatory amendments, currently being drafted and under review, will be presented to the Commission at a public meeting in July and subsequently opened for public review and comment.

Adult-Use Cannabis Retailers to Resume Operations May 25

Starting on May 25, 2020, adult use cannabis retailers will be allowed to reopen with precautionary procedures in accordance with Governor Baker’s Order Implementing a Phased Reopening of Workplaces and Imposing Workplace Safety Measures to Address COVID-19.

Marijuana Establishment Delivery Applications Available to Economic Empowerment Applicants, Social Equity Program Participants Starting May 28

The Cannabis Control Commission (Commission) will open up licensing applications to prospective Delivery-only Marijuana Establishments and certain Microbusinesses seeking Delivery Endorsements starting on Thursday, May 28, 2020. In accordance with Commission regulations, the new adult use license types will be exclusively available to certified Economic Empowerment Applicants and Social Equity Program Participants for a minimum of two years.
