Cannabis Control Commission Executive Director Statement on House Passage of H.4791, An Act Relative to Equity in the Cannabis Industry

WORCESTER—On Wednesday, Executive Director of the Cannabis Control Commission (Commission) Shawn Collins issued the below statement following the House’s passage of H.4791, An Act Relative to Equity in the Cannabis Industry:

“I am grateful to the House for its passage of H.4791, and for the support of many members who have heard our Commission and the community push for needed changes to our state’s cannabis laws. This legislation takes another significant step towards achieving equity in our Commonwealth’s legal marketplace by addressing key issues such as host community agreements, social consumption, and the creation of a social equity fund. I look forward to continuing to work alongside all of our partners at the State House to increase access to our $3 billion industry.”
