Cannabis Control Commission Executive Director Statement on Senate Passage of S.2801, An Act relative to equity in the cannabis industry
WORCESTER—On Thursday, Executive Director of the Cannabis Control Commission (Commission) Shawn Collins issued the below statement following the State Senate’s passage of S.2801, An Act relative to equity in the cannabis industry:
“For several years, the Commission has worked with our partners on Beacon Hill to advocate for urgently needed changes to Massachusetts’ cannabis laws. I am grateful to the Senate for its passage of S.2801, as well as its comprehensive debate of numerous issues, including host community agreements, social consumption, a social equity fund, and expungement, which have been raised by our agency and industry. I look forward to following this bill’s progress and further deliberation and action from the Legislature on these important matters.”
