Renewing with the Massachusetts Medical Use of Marijuana Program

Step 1: Log on to the Medical Use of Marijuana Online System (Online System)

• After being re-certified by your physician, log on to the Online System. Click “Register as a Patient,” then “Renew Registration.”
• Can’t remember your login information? Go to MassCIP and select “forgot username” or “forgot password” to reset it.

Step 2: Enter Your Identifying Information

• Enter your identifying information exactly as it is listed on the instructions provided to you by your Certifying Health Care Provider.

Step 3: Review Instructions

• Review instructions then click “Proceed” to continue. Enter your personal information in the provided field.

Step 4: Read Attestation 

• Read the attestation and select the checkbox to agree. Click “Proceed” to continue.

Step 5: Review Identification Information

• If you selected a “State License” or “State ID” as your form of identification and the system is unable to retrieve your photograph from the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV), you will next go to the Identification Verification page. (If the identification being used is not from Massachusetts, you may just click the “Proceed” button.)
• Review and update information, if necessary. 
• Click “Proceed” to continue. 

Step 6: Upload Form of ID

• Enter the document expiration date of your form of identification, then select the file on your hard drive that contains your scanned identification document. Click “Upload.” If the upload is successful, the file will appear in the table above the form.
• Click “Proceed” to continue. 

Step 7: Submit Proof of Residency

• Select the file on your hard drive that contains your scanned proof of residency document. Click “Upload.” If the upload is successful, the file will appear in the table above the form.
• Click “Proceed” to continue. 

Step 8: Submit Photo

• If the system was able to source  your photograph from the Massachusetts RMV, you will see the photo displayed. If a photo is not displayed, select the file on your hard drive containing your identification photo. Click “Upload.” 
• If the system is able to obtain your Massachusetts RMV photo after you upload a file, you will have the option to select either image. 
• Click “Proceed” to continue. 

Step 9: Submit Application

• Review your application information. If you need to update any details, click on the information to return to the page where it may be updated.
• When you are ready to submit your application, click “Submit.”
