Ten Things Renewing Registered Qualifying Patient or Patients (Patient or Patients) Should Know
Here are 10 things every Patient of the Massachusetts Medical Use of Marijuana Program should know.
1. Renew your Patient status annually.
Your Medical Use of Marijuana Program registration expires annually on the anniversary of your registration date.
2. Renew your registration online.
You can renew your registration up to 60 days before it expires. Unable to renew online? Contact us at (833) 869-6820.
3. You must hold a current Patient certification.
You must hold a current Patient certification from your healthcare provider. Check your certification status by accessing your Medical Use of Marijuana Online System (Online System) account or calling (833) 869-6820.
4. Certification expired? Get recertified.
If your certification has expired, you must visit a Certified Healthcare Provider to get re-certified as a Patient.
5. Keep your account information up-to-date.
Have your name, address, or other contact details changed? Does your government-issued ID have a new expiration date? Please update your account in the Online System within five days of any change.
6. Know your four-digit PIN.
You’ll need your four-digit PIN to renew. Forgot your PIN? Call us at (833) 869-6820 (Monday through Friday, 10am-3pm EST).
7. Keep your caregiver information up-to-date.
Need to update caregiver information? You can do it in the Online System.
8. There is no fee to register.
There is no longer a fee to register for a Medical Marijuana registration card through the Cannabis Control Commission. Certifying Health Care Providers may charge Patients a fee for annual certification visits.
9. Carry your registration card.
You must continue to carry your registration card whenever you are in possession of marijuana for medical use.
10. Patients may possess up to 10 ounces of medical marijuana.
The maximum amount a Patient may possess is a 60-day supply—or up to 10 ounces.
