Plan ahead.

Many MTCs post a menu of current products and pricing on their websites.

Consider visiting during an off-peak time.

Friday nights and weekends tend to be busy times at most MTCs.

You must present a valid Massachusetts Medical Use of Marijuana registration card at the door, such as a Registered Qualifying Patient (Patient) or Caregiver registration card.

Other accepted forms include an Initial Access document from a Certifying Health Care Provider or a 14-day temporary registration card, which you may print at the time of your approved certification. If you present a temporary registration card, you must also present a government-issued identification. This can be a current driver’s license, passport, military ID, or state-issued ID card showing that you are 21 years or older. No temporary forms of ID are accepted.

Ask questions.

Know the limits.

Massachusetts law allows a Patient to possess up to a 60-day supply (up to 10 ounces) for personal medical use.

Keep it sealed.

State regulations require that all products must be sold in tamper-resistant packaging. No products can be opened or consumed inside the MTC.

Bring cash or debit.

MTCs in Massachusetts may not accept credit cards. Some may charge a fee for using your debit card.

Wait to consume at home.

Massachusetts law prohibits marijuana use in any form in public places. Also, you may not have an open container of any type of marijuana product in your vehicle.
