Medical Use of Marijuana Program Open House

December 12, 2024

10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Location:
Cannabis Control Commission Headquarters
Union Station
2 Washington Square, 2nd Floor
Worcester, MA 01604

On Thursday, December 12, the Cannabis Control Commission will host an in-person Open House at historic Union Station in Worcester to assist Patients and Caregivers with registering or renewing their status with Massachusetts’ Medical Use of Marijuana Program.

Between 10 a.m.-3 p.m., interested constituents are invited to visit the agency’s headquarters located at 2 Washington Square in Worcester to meet with a member of the Constituent Services Team in a closed, dedicated space to ensure Patient and Caregiver confidentiality.

Reservations are not required to participate. Attendees will be invited to meet one-on-one with agency staff based on a first come, first serve basis. Individuals who are interested in registering as Patients will first need to be certified by a Certifying Healthcare Provider—a Massachusetts-licensed physician, certified Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant—prior to their visit on December 12.

Qualifying Medical Conditions include:

  • Cancer
  • Glaucoma
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Hepatitis C
  • Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS)
  • Crohn’s disease
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Other debilitating conditions as determined in writing by a certified physician

During the Open House, Patients and Caregivers may be able to complete their initial registration or renewal for the Program, including application completion and document uploads. If registration is successful, participants will be able to depart with their temporary Program ID card in hand, which will allow them to purchase products from a dispensing Medical Marijuana Treatment Center for themselves, or on behalf of a Patient, immediately.

To register with the Program, Patients will need to bring the following documents:

  • An active medical certification from a Certifying Healthcare Provider. Please schedule an appointment with a Provider prior to the event on December 12. Resources such as Massachusetts Patient Advocacy Alliance’s online listing may be a helpful starting point to find a Provider near you.
  • Identification and Proof of Massachusetts Residency. Accepted documents include:
    • A current Massachusetts driver’s license.
    • A current Massachusetts ID card that includes a photograph of yourself.
    • A current U.S. passport, U.S. military ID, or Permanent Resident Card. (When submitting a passport, U.S. military ID, or Permanent Resident Card as your valid form of identification, you must also submit a document that validates your primary residence. The name and address on the document must match the information submitted during registration.)

Caregivers only need to bring an identification document, outlined above.
