Learn more about another state designation that grants licensees access to fee waivers and other benefits in order to promote an inclusive cannabis industry in Massachusetts.
A minority-owned business, women-owned business, and/or veteran-owned business may be certified by the state Supplier Diversity Office as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) to qualify for expedited licensing review by Commission licensing staff upon demonstrating certain requirements. Once certified, DBEs will also be eligible for certain fee waivers.
The three aforementioned categories may disclose those designations in their Commission license application and either (1) be certified as that specific type of business with the Supplier Diversity Office or (2) signed up for the Supplier Diversity Office’s required business class and complete and upload the Expedited Review Affidavit into their license application. The Commission requires certification as a minority-owned, women-owned or veteran-owned business by the Supplier Diversity Office prior to entities obtaining a final license.
More information pertaining to obtaining certification from the Supplier Diversity Office is located here.
